Kappa Alpha Thetas from every chapter including Delta Omega of Texas A&M traveled from around the United States and Canada to be a part of the Fraternity’s National Grand Convention, held at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa, June 23-28.
Grand Convention was an incredible opportunity to meet and spend time with our sisters all across the states and Canada. The entire Convention raised $3,500 for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) our national philanthropy, donated to the Pansy Patch, and participated in a book drive over the course of our time in Arizona. Our days consisted of good conversation, networking, educational programming, and a few very special events, including the memorial service for those Thetas who had passed since the last Grand Convention and also the college chapter awards celebration.
Delta Omega was Runner-Up for the Clementine Allen Facility Director Award, awarding our house mother, Joella Stewart, for her love and service to our chapter. The chapter was also named a Golden Kite chapter, awarded to just 18 chapters out of the 125+ national and international chapters.
